The use of the image

A 'The Use of the Image' című Haskell-könyvében, The historical significal of style című fejezetben olvashatjuk Donatelloról, azt amit Henry Moore önmagáról, a szobrairól tartott fontosnak megjegyezni, Burckhardt pedig:

"Everything that exsited seemed to him capable of being reprensented in sculpture by the very fact of its exsistence, and of its possession of a caracter at its own. To give life to this character at its most austere and its most harsh, and also at its most powerfull and most grandiose- this was for him the highest goal."
